Olivia's Cafe

Welcome To Olivia's Cafe!
This was built in April 2023 & was our most exciting part of Tiny Town to refurbish & create, there are resources from America and all over the UK to fill our cafe.
We have put a huge amount of effort into making Olivia's feel like a real little cafe.
In Olivia's Cafe, any recipe and any invention is possible so have fun and enjoy tasting your own creations!

What Can I Learn in Olivia's Cafe That Will Benefit Development?
- imagination skills, creating recipes and using different resources. (EAD, UTW)
- using new vocabulary and communication to potential cafe customers. (CL, L, UTW)

- Cutting and mixing, counting skills (M), (PD).

- Different colours & textures of foods, why are they healthy for us, different food groups (M), (UTW), (PSED).

- Use money for counting. (M)

- Washing hands before serving or eating. (PSED)

- Understanding that print has meaning - menu items and chalkboard display (L)

How Can I Maximise Development With My Child Here?

- Inform children of different food groups, e.g bread basket, vegetables, fish..

- Ask questions to prompt communication such as (how much does my tea cost?)

- Role play with serving and buying products from the menu.

- Descriptive words using senses such as "what does that taste like?", "How does this smell?"
